Background
Founded in 1992 as Alexander Palkin Limited Liability Company, IPC is presently one of the leaders in industrial anticorrosion protection. The Company is proud of its history and draws upon the accumulated experience of technical innovations and its own integrated federal resources.
Beginnings
Since its beginnings in 1992 when the Company performed anticorrosion protection works for ship repairs and the shipbuilding industries of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland, IPC began to expand its presence in the other industries. In 1992, IPC started to provide services for heat power facilities in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Poland. In 1996, IPC launched a few projects at the oil and gas facilities of Russia and Lithuania, of which the largest ones included KlaipedosNafta Receiving Terminal (1998); tank battery, onshore facilities, pump stations and process pipelines of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CTC) (2001-2002), Grushevaya petroleum depot (2002, 2007), Sosnogorsk GPP (2004-2005); tank battery of the main oil booster station of VSTO Taishet (2007). IPC emergence in the oil and gas industry coincided with the growth of demand for anticorrosion protection services in Russia. It only took IPC a short time to make its mark in the market due to the highly professional process organization, strict observance of performance times and warranty liabilities in providing anticorrosion protection for above-ground oil/oil product storage tanks, process and other structures of sheet steel.
We have performed works in 7 hour zones, from 20 to 100 meridians. IPC has always been able to work in any part of the Russian Federation by engaging its joint resources for the purpose.
Innovative efforts
Throughout its evolution our Company has performed a multitude of works that were innovative for Russia and the neighboring countries and contributed to the development of the anticorrosion protection market.
We were the first in Russia to provide protection for oil storage tanks with a capacity totaling 100,000 m³.
We were also the first in Russia to apply the latest technologies for water duct interior painting instead of the widely accepted cement-sand insulation.
In Russia, jointly with the Navy Central Research Institute we pioneered in validation of a ship-on-the-run repair technology (without dockage), preparation and performance of independent tests of products by 26 major world manufacturers of paint materials, such as Hempel, Jotun, Ameron, International etc.
We were the first in Russia to carry out chemical treatment of inner surfaces of small-diameter (1/2'' to 12'') especially clean process pipelines without passivation, with subsequent nitrogen preservation.
International Cooperation
Through its strict compliance with technologies and performance times, and high corporate culture our company has become demanded in the market, such demand being also on the part of foreign customers and engineering companies operating in Russia and near abroad. We have effectively collaborated with and have positive references from a number of the world construction industry leaders, such as Chicago Bridge&Iron, Fluor Daniel, Bouygues Offshore, SCO, ShkodaJS, Renault, Geico, Comau and GBTMbh. We also have close partnership relations with the world leading producers of materials and equipment.
New Company IPC
The Company was named Industrial Protective Coatings in 2001. Since then IPS has made a few acquisitions that helped dramatically extend the scope of its services. Today IPC is a fully integrated company rendering the entire range of services in the area of industrial anticorrosion protection. We can handle any amount of anticorrosion protection for large process facilities.
Our expanded technical potential notwithstanding, we still specialize in fixed-price project implementation, perform nearly all the anticorrosion protection works using our own resources and – just as before – we place special emphasis on job safety, quality, reliability and efficiency.
